A Custom Concrete Entryway
This custom concrete staircase was built for a new construction site, starting with carefully building up the grade using compacted gravel to create a solid, stable base. From there, the layout was precisely set and forms installed to define each step, including a bold 1-1/2″ nosing detail that adds depth and character to the design. With everything locked in place, the steps were poured with precision, delivering a clean, architectural finish that elevates the entire entrance.
The Pouring Stage
The pour stage is where everything comes to life, with concrete being carefully placed while the entire formwork system holds strong under pressure. Heavy bracing is strategically used throughout the structure, with some supports being adjusted and removed at key moments during the pour to allow for proper filling and finishing. It’s a fast-moving, highly coordinated process that demands precision and timing, ultimately shaping a clean, solid set of steps with sharp definition and a strong architectural presence.
The Completed Job
With the landscaping finished and the home now fully built, the completed concrete steps are seen in their final setting—seamlessly integrated into the property and framed by clean exterior finishes and thoughtful landscape design. What began as a structural build now reads as a natural extension of the home, delivering a strong, refined entry that ties the entire space together.
